5 Point Focus of my walk/run for the VP "spot" for the GPUS 2008 slate! This is a featured page

Each point is connected to one of the 10 key values of the GPUS

5 point focus of my “walk/run” for 2008 GPUS Vice Presidential position:

1 of 5 GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY

Every human being deserves a say in the decisions that affect their lives and not be subject to the will of another. Therefore, we will work to increase public participation at every level of government and to ensure that our public representatives are fully accountable to the people who elect them. We will also work to create new types of political organizations which expand the process of participatory democracy by directly including citizens in the decision-making process.

  • Ensure that “we” Greens become the Americans that get folks for trained to serve as citizen enforcer of the Voter Rights Act training and setting up Anti Voter Fraud Taskforce in every city of every state in the union for the 2008 national election. We Greens wants to protect the integrity of our national election’s it would not be unfair to say that our last two national elections have now both been seen as a illegal "hostile business takeover" that was carried out with the complicity of the USA corporate media.
1. We will build on the work that greens did in Ohio 2004 recount efforts. Our next step is massive nationwide prevention effort to remind the American public of what was lost in 2002 and 2004. Work with independent media to set up a network that will document and track every violation in each state of our union. Our national leadership can set up means to share our concerns with all other political parties and specifically request the democracy not to do what they have done in the next 2 national elected not allow all the votes to be counted we need a pledge from everyone of their folks seeking office in 2008! 2. Work to ensure that every registered green is a “point person” for Federal Voting Rights Laws and The Voting Rights Act, adopted initially in 1965 and extended in 1970, 1975, 1982 and 2006 as the "Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Reauthorization and Amendments Act of 2006." which renews key provisions that would otherwise expire in 2007. It is generally considered the most successful piece of civil rights legislation ever adopted by the United States Congress. The Act codifies and effectuates the 15th Amendment's permanent guarantee that, throughout the nation, no person shall be denied the right to vote on account of race or color. In addition, the Act contains several special provisions that impose even more stringent requirements in certain jurisdictions throughout the country. We will be seen as “proactive” in building a board base coalitions with “all” other’s who are also working to ensure every vote get’s counted and every eligibly voter can vote in 2008 and beyond! 3. On March 7, 2008 to honor the 42nd (1965 -2008) Commemoration of "Bloody Sunday, March 7th, 1965, voting rights marchers in Selma were viciously attacked by Alabama state police while peacefully protesting for the right to vote, the Green Party Untied States will launch our Anti Voter Fraud Taskforce Fraud Taskforce in Selma , Alabama

2 of 5 RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY

We believe it is important to value cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, religious and spiritual diversity, and to promote the development of respectful relationships across these lines. We believe that the many diverse elements of society should be reflected in our organizations and decision-making bodies, and we support the leadership of people who have been traditionally closed out of leadership roles. We acknowledge and encourage respect for other life forms than our own and the preservation of biodiversity.

  • White Privilege and its role within our party on every level; national, state, regional and local workshops” to be held over the about it, then setting up a national taskforce to capture the essential points from the conversations, then (remaining 5 months before November 2008 election)
  • By our national political party taking a lead on setting up “White Privilege dialogue workshops” over the next 13 months (March 2007 – June 2008) via a national taskforce during our annual meeting as a part of what we will cover in a whole General Assembly not a side bar workshop! From this high point of focus and the lack of persons of color joining our party! Let us pull from our expert’s from around our entire nation to present to us the research and successful techniques that have proven to address and educate on and about White Privilege
  • Our setting up state White Privilege focus groups will enable White Privilege national taskforce to crystallize communication because they would be able to capture the essential points from the conversations, thus by training and empowering our national slate
  • Our national slate will share our political party’s model of “White Privilege Dialogue Workshops” with the entire nation for the 6 months lead up to our national election in November 2008 as part of there “stumping”, “We” Greens will have the “moral” right to lead our nation starting the day in July 2008 where our national slate is chosen
3 of 5 SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

All persons should have the rights and opportunity to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment. We must consciously confront in ourselves, our organizations, and society at large, barriers such as racism and class oppression, sexism and homophobia, ageism and disability, which act to deny fair treatment and equal justice under the law.
  • Dismantling the “ism” within our party on every level; region, gender, ethnicity, disability, class, sexual orientation by having a national dialogue about it, then setting up state focus groups to lead the work toward ending the “ism” within our party there by creating a model for our nation to follow to also end it’s “ism”!
1. By our national political party taking a lead on setting up “Dismantling the “ism” White dialogue workshops” over the next 13 months (March 2007 – June 2008) via a national taskforce during our annual meeting as a part of what we will cover in a whole General Assembly not a side bar workshop! From this high point of focus and the lack of region, gender, ethnicity, disability, class and sexual orientation start in masses joining our party! Let us pull from our expert’s from around our entire nation to present to us the research and successful techniques that have proven to address and educate on and about “Dismantling the “ism” 2. Our setting up state “Dismantling the “ism” focus groups will enable “Dismantling the “ism” national taskforce to crystallize communication because they would be able to capture the essential points from the conversations, thus by training and empowering our national slate 3. Our national slate will share our political party’s model of “Dismantling the “ism” Dialogue Workshops” with the entire nation for the 6 months lead up to our national election in November 2008 as part of there “stumping”, “We” Greens will have the “moral” right to lead our nation starting the day in July 2008 where our national slate is chosen
  • Marking 2008 as the year of the Green Women worldwide! It is our goal to run and walk

4 of 5 COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMICS AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE

We recognize it is essential to create a vibrant and sustainable economic system, one that can create jobs and provide a decent standard of living for all people while maintaining a healthy ecological balance. A successful economic system will offer meaningful work with dignity, while paying a “living wage” which reflects the real value of a person’s work. Local communities must look to economic development that assures protection of the environment and workers’ rights; broad citizen participation in planning; and enhancement of our “quality of life.” We support independently owned and operated companies which are socially responsible, as well as co-operatives and public enterprises that distribute resources and control to more people through democratic participation.

  • Environmental Re-Focus; we can reclaim our eco roots thru a campaign; “Greens are planting”!
1. Recognize who’s who of Green vibrant and sustainable economic system here in the nation 2. Work for all our state parties have there meeting annual during Worker Day as a means to high what statewide Greens have done and plant to do for and on protecting worker’s right and ensuring “living wages
  • 3. Create as part of the “Greens are planting”! a quality of life event which the local environment is honored
5 of 5 ECOLOGICAL WISDOM

Human societies must operate with the understanding that we are part of nature, not separate from nature. We must maintain an ecological balance and live within the ecological and resource limits of our communities and our planet. We support a sustainable society which utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit and not suffer from the practices of our generation. To this end we must practice agriculture which replenishes the soil; move to an energy efficient economy; and live in ways that respect the integrity of natural systems.
  • Highlighting and ensuring Green and Social Justice Historical Preservation for every state in the union can be a permanent means for fundraising and organizing

    1. Anniversary of every Green State party and it’s historic tie’s to the local chapters

    1. Setting up several different types of tours which will highlight Green and other Social Justice historical sites in every state

    1. Connecting “our” American stories to the wider historical preservation movement
